All Meg has ever wanted is to get away. Away from high school. Away from her backwater town. Away from her parents who seem determined to keep her imprisoned in their dead-end lives. But one crazy evening involving a dare and forbidden railroad tracks, she goes way too far...and almost doesn't make it back.
John made a choice to stay. To enforce the rules. To serve and protect. He has nothing but contempt for what he sees as childish rebellion, and he wants to teach Meg a lesson she won't soon forget. But Meg pushes him to the limit by questioning everything he learned at the police academy. And when he pushes back, demanding to know why she won't be tied down, they will drive each other to the edge -- and over....
If I could give it more than 5 e-readers I would.
This book didn't start slow or end slow. It was the perfect read for me. I don't say I could really relate to the girl in real world terms, but as far as fictional goes I engrossed myself with this wonderful character. This is one I picked up and could not put it down through doing the dishes and cleaning my room. Anamazing love story that will forever find a place in my heart. The author has truly grabbed me and pulled me on a love story at its best.
The characters dont just automaticly fall in love. That is what I hate most in books. Love at first sight. Come on people how often does that happen? I want to learn to love these characters before getting swept off my feet into the carriage like Sleeping Beauty. This one the characters don't automatically fall in love. They don't either necessarily hate each other either.
That is another thing that drives me up the wall. When they absolutely hate each other and then BAM! they kiss. No,No this book they aren't all too fond of each other but they aren't trying to reach and throttle each other to death either. They were mearly acquaintances which developed feelings for each other over time- Lovely.
I actually enjoyed the main female,Meg. I defiantly didn't find her complaining and a cry baby in any sense. I found her bad-butt. Her blue hair is one thing that I found unusual about her, but it didn't stop me from really, really liking her.
John. My dear John. How art I loveth you. You are my dream man. Yes, John the total opposite of Meg. He isn't wild or party crazed. He is solid minded but he defiantly soon fell in love with our Meg. He is an excellent, swoon worthy male in this book.
Now what started it all- that darn bridge with the train tracks. John patrols it. That is where the story starts off. Meg was there with some friends getting drunk and she got arrested by John. She didnt know what sentimental feelings came with that bridge. I didn't either til I got to the last 10 pages. - DON'T YOU DARE FLIP TO THE LAST 10 PAGES! You will want to read this book from the beginning. I assure you.
The plot was dynamic and can keep a person entertained til the end of time and still have you pondering on with this book. My love overflowed with this delectible story- it is almost better than sugar itself. I recommend to anyone looking for a love story- yet not a sterio type. One that is formed and shows true love.
((Yes I own the same shirt as Meg in the book ;) ))
