The Secret

Cover of the Day: Faerie After

Faerie After by Janni Lee Simner   I love all of the covers in this series because of how simple they are. I love how there's just one image in the center of this cover, and I love the way it looks against the black background. And I love the title font! I think that the part that says "Book 3..." would look better at the bottom of the cover, but aside from that, I really like this one. :)   Whatdya think?   -Amanda B.

Cover of the Day: The Toadhouse Trilogy

The Toadhouse Trilogy by Jess Lourey The colors are definitely what makes this book stand out! They make the cover really eye-catching and pretty. I like the subtle things in the background like the book next to the girl and the bad-guy's face above her. I like the placement and the font of the title too! Whatdya think? -Amanda B.

Cover of the Day: Fearless

Fearless by Cornelia Funke I love the colors of this book cover (especially the foggy blue in the background)! I like the swirlies around the edges, but they don't quite  flow right with the rest of the cover. Same with the title font. I love the placement and how it stands out, but it isn't quite right. The creepy silhouette made out of the moths is definitely my favorite part of this cover! Whatdya think? -Amanda B.

Cover of the Day: Casey Barnes Eponymous

Casey Barnes Eponymous by E.A. Rigg My favorite part about this cover is definitely the shoes! Haha. Aside from the shoes, I love the colors and the feel of the cover. It's got a classic sort of feel to it. I love the placement of the author's name, but I think the tittle font is just a bit off.  Whatdya think? -Amanda B.

Cover of the Day: Fox Forever

Fox Forever by Mary E. Pearson   I missed posting last week with all the chaos of spring break, but I'm back this week with an awesome cover!   This cover is very simple and complicated at the same time. The colors and where the title is make it feel simple, and the puzzle peices make it complex. I love the puzzle peices on this cover, and how there are two faces in the peices. I love the colors of the eyes, too! All of it together makes for a very curious and complex cover.   Whatdya think?   -Amanda B.

Cover of the Day: Strands of Bronze and Gold

Strands of Bronze and Gold by Jane Nickerson This cover is really pretty! I love the picture of the girl, and her hair, and I love the way the colors are. I like the font a lot, and the placement of the title and the author's name. It takes up just the right amount of space. I think the tagline should be just a bit bigger though. I don't love the swirly leaf patterns in the corners on the right side though. They don't quite fit in with the rest of the cover. Whatdya think? -Amanda B.

Cover of the Day: Scarlet

Scarlet by Marissa Meyer My favorite part about this cover is the title. I LOVE the font and the placement, and how it draws your eye. I love the cloak too, and how you can only see part of the girl. And the foggy background brings it all together nicely. I think the author's name should be a bit bigger, but other than that, I love this cover! Whatdya think? -Amanda B.

Cover of the Day: The Raven Boys

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater   I get super excited every time I see this cover, mostly because I love Maggie Stiefvater, but also because, well, look at it! This cover is really unique! You don't see a lot of YA covers where the art was actually painted like this. On top of that, the raven is gorgeous! I love the brush strokes, and I love the red patch. I also love the title; where it is, the font, and the lines behind it. The lines are very curious.   Whatdya think?   -Amanda B.

Cover of the Day: Tiger Lily

Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson   I LOVE the colors on this cover! I didn't realize it the first time I saw this cover, but that's a picture of a girl in a dress! I thought it was just a flower at first glace, which is gorgeous, but now that I can tell it's a girl, it's like ten times more awesome. SO PRETTY!   I love the font for the title as well, and I love how the author's name is big enough and bright enough to stand out and be noticed, but it doesn't take over the cover.   Whatdya think?   -Amanda B.

Cover of the Day: The Night Circus

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern     I absolutely LOVE everything about this book cover. It's beautiful and eye-catching and swirly and simple-yet-complicated at the same time. I love how the circus looks in the palm of the hand, and I especially love the swirlies around the title. I find it to be an over-all very curious cover.   Whatdya think?   Amanda B.

Cover of the Day: Girl Unmoored

Girl Unmoored by Jennifer Gooch Hummer This is a really sweet and simple and cute cover. I love the title font and colors, the little cloud with the raindrops, and the sailboat. The sailboat is definitely my favorite part of this cover. I don't know how well you can read the words on the sail from this picture, but it says "What love means to me" over and over again. This cover really seems to flow together very nicely, even the quote at the top.  I love it! Whatdya think? -Amanda B.

Cover of the Day: Dash & Lily's Book of Dares

Dash and Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan I've always loved this cover! I love the city background (especially the colors), and how the title is on the street sign. I love how the colors are a bit... smudgy to make it look like it's snowing, and I LOVE the heart-shaped snowflakes. They go perfect with the cute story inside.  Whatdya think? - Amanda B.
