Book Feature of the Week 2- Casey Barnes Eponymous Guest Post

I am so sorry this isn't the review I promised today but I had to switch  because I haven't finished the book yet! I will defiantly get the review up tomorrow after I finish it at school. So I thought I would put the lovely guest post up. Don't worry it will be up tomorrow you have my word otherwise you have my complete permission to throttle me. :) So Adele flipped the audience the bird the other night at the Brit Awards.  It was at the tail end of her speech.  She was speaking about how proud she was to be British and the announcer cut her off to introduce Blur.  She flipped the audience the bird.  When called out on it she explained that in reality she was flipping the “suits” in the audience the bird, not her fans. Because, of course, it was the suits, the execs sitting in the audience watching the show, who told the announcer to cut her off. Now don’t get me wrong.  I really like Adele.  She’s got a voice like no other and is beaut...

Title: Going Too Far  Author: Jennifer Echols  Published: March 17, 2009 Publisher:  MTV Books  Format:  Ebook Rating:  5/5 Ereaders All Meg has ever wanted is to get away. Away from high school. Away from her backwater town. Away from her parents who seem determined to keep her imprisoned in their dead-end lives. But one crazy evening involving a dare and forbidden railroad tracks, she goes way too far...and almost doesn't make it back. John made a choice to stay. To enforce the rules. To serve and protect. He has nothing but contempt for what he sees as childish rebellion, and he wants to teach Meg a lesson she won't soon forget. Title: The Moon Coin Series: Moon Realm Novel Illustrator: Carolyn Arcabascio Publisher: Gibbering Gnome Press Published: September 10, 2011   Format: Ebook Source: Richard for Review   Once upon a time, Lily and Jasper Winter had an uncle named Ebb. He liked to tell tales of a place called the Moon Realm, where nine moons swirled around one another, each inhabited by strange and wondrous beings: magical lunamancers; undersea merfolk; wise birds; winged dragons; and Lily’s favorite, the heroic, leonine Rinn: =^..^=. Uncle Ebb had quite the imagination.  Now, nine years after the tales began, he’s missing. Soon, so is Lily, transported to the Moon Realm by a mysterious coin.  But this Moon Realm is different. Book Feature of the Week (1) Guest Post

Inspired to Write Growing up, I loved to read and I also loved to write. I would read everything I could get my hands on. Even things like the cereal box or the ketchup bottle label. I just couldn’t get enough to read. I was like a drug addict, and the written word was my drug of choice.  As I grew older I discovered boys. Yes, I did. Needless to say, my love of reading and writing stories slowly trickled away until I found myself grown and those things just became null and void in my life for many years.   About twenty years ago my youngest started school and I suddenly found all this extra time in my day and I picked up a book a friend had suggested I read. Actually, it was John Grisham’s book, The Firm, but at that time he was basically unheard of. Needless to say, I immediately fell in love and began buying any suspense and murder mystery books I could find. The years went by, my children grew up and I had joined a small book club. I rushed to pick up the monthly read and ...

Book Feature of the week (1) - Excerpt

Heres an excerpt from Ties to the Blood Moon by Robin Waldrop . I hope y'all enjoy and make sure you defiantly check out Robin's book.  When he pulled out his hand a thin gold necklace dangled in his grip. He tossed it to me. “Keep walking.” When I opened my hand and picked it up by the chain, I saw the tiny heart shaped locket. I knew instantly it was my mom’s. She wore it every single day, never taking it off. I remembered asking her about it when I was little. She told me my father had given it to her right after I was born. He told her the heart represented his love for us.  My eyes burned with fresh tears. I didn’t need to open the locket. I knew there would be two pictures inside. One picture was of me as a baby, and the other was the two of them taken on their wedding day. I slowly lowered the chain into the palm of my hand, then made a tight fist around it.  A surge of electricity shot through my body, forcing me to my knees. I was blinded by a white light, ...

Interview: Devon Ashley

Here is my part on the tour stop :) - 1) So let's start off with something easy on the question. What started you off writing? I actually started off really young. So young in fact that I don't remember when it happened. I think I finally took it a little more seriously a few years back when I went from writing to de-stress from my day to really just wanting to write all the time. I've got a ton of ideas marinating in my head and I can't wait to get them written down already. 2) Which of your books took the longest to compose? Ordained, but only cause I was writing it for fun - it took about six months of free time to complete. Falling In Between was the quickest, easiest write for me and it was done in less than six weeks. 3) So whose romance did you enjoy writing the most, Chance + Jenna or Robert +Jenna? Jenna and Robert. But I may be a little biast cause Robert looks a LOT like my hubby. :) 4) Which of your characters did it take the longest to deveop and figure ...

When it gets to be too much she seeks refuge in the arms of her new boyfriend, William, only to find out he's not who she thought he was either.   I actually  really, really, enjoy this books cover. It matches the story and plot so with all a due , it is perfect for this book. A little bit too much red to me but it matches as I repeat. I am not a big fan of the font of Ties to the Blood Moon , but it isnt the ugliest font I have ever seen.      I am going to have to make this short and sweet because I am slightly rushed as I write it. So feel free t...

Jr Beta Essay

Hi, everyone. If you had been stalking me or know me you know that I have been writing an essay for Jr Beta. So tell me what you think? It is the work of a 7th grader named Courtney. :)       One foot soon preceded the other, we slowly descended into the cockpit of our car, our own thoughts drifted to the race. We have just committed to start and finish. Our breathing is heavy as if we  ran a hundred laps around a track ,but it is just anticipation  that is making the intake of air a struggle for us . We, as Betas, already know the goals we will strive for and hopefully  achieve in this race: leadership, good character for all to see, and academic excellence. This grand prix is the race of life, and we are the pace car.    When we start our engines, we hear the roaring of our competitor’s engines and are reminded they are the competition; however, as Betas, we are thinking about displaying a strong leadership which will cause people to think of us...
