The Secret

Cover of the Day: Where the Stars Still Shine

Where the Stars Still Shine by Trish Doller I really love how the background is blurry and the title easily pops out. It looks magical. I also like the colors. Green and purple are amazing together! Plus the authors name looks very pretty and not at all annoying in the purple strip at the bottom. What do you think?

Cover of the Day: The Chaos of Stars

The Chaos of Stars by Kiersten White       I chose this cover because the colors are so vibrant and look amazing together. I love how to gold is  so bright against the midnight blue. I also love the designs on the edges of the book. It really feeds into the Egyptian vibe that the book is based on. Its very simple, but that's the main reason I love it. There isn't too much going on, but there's enough to get some idea of what its about.  So what do you think?  Love it, like it, or hate it? -Nikki H.

Cover of the Day: Ketchup Clouds

Ketchup Clouds by Annabel Pitcher I like this cover because it's so totally bizarre. If you read the synopsis, which is also really strange, you get the sense that it all fits together somehow.  I really like the hand-drawn red clouds and how the girl is reaching up and holding onto the bird's feet. The only thing I don't really like is all the type. It's not the font necessarily but maybe the color? I think it would have looked better if part of the type was in red to match the clouds. Love it? Like it? Hate it? Let me know!

Cover of the Day: Casey Barnes Eponymous

Casey Barnes Eponymous by E.A. Rigg My favorite part about this cover is definitely the shoes! Haha. Aside from the shoes, I love the colors and the feel of the cover. It's got a classic sort of feel to it. I love the placement of the author's name, but I think the tittle font is just a bit off.  Whatdya think? -Amanda B.

Cover of The Day: The Drowning

The Drowning by Rachel Ward I loved the simplicity of this cover. The girl's bruised up body and her dirty face and her look is so intriguing. I also loved how the cover showed both the surface and deep within the water. So, it created some kind of dividing effect, it looks amazing. I also loved the title's font, but I wished it was white. I think white would have looked better than the bright green. What are your thoughts? -- Soma

Cover of the Day: Smoke

Smoke by Ellen Hopkins I really love the simplicity of this cover. It's not hard on the eyes, but it's still captures one's attention. The title is nicely placed and the colors are amazing. I especially love the way the author's name doesn't get in the way. Really cool. :) What do you think?

Cover of the Day: Erased by Jennifer Rush

This Saturday's cover of the day belongs to Erased by Jennifer Rush . I love this cover! He has this super intent look on his face and let's be honest....... HE'S GORGEOUS! lol I also love the bright orange font. It really sticks out on the black, white, and gray cover. And if you've read the first installement to this series, you'l understand why this is such a great cover. All the boys in this series are AMAZING.  So what do you think?  Love it, like it, or hate it? -Nikki H.

Cover of the Day: Tumble & Fall

Tumble & Fall by Alexandra Coutts As soon as I saw this book I was immedietely drawn to it.  Things I love about this cover: 1. The unique perspective, looking down on the couple 2. How the amperstamp is the largest part of the title and works to frame the couples faces. 3. The weird glowing circles that are falling everywhere Love it? Like it? Hate it?

Cover of the Day: Fox Forever

Fox Forever by Mary E. Pearson   I missed posting last week with all the chaos of spring break, but I'm back this week with an awesome cover!   This cover is very simple and complicated at the same time. The colors and where the title is make it feel simple, and the puzzle peices make it complex. I love the puzzle peices on this cover, and how there are two faces in the peices. I love the colors of the eyes, too! All of it together makes for a very curious and complex cover.   Whatdya think?   -Amanda B.

Cover Of The Day: The Disgrace of Kitty Grey

The Disgrace of Kitty Grey by Mary Hooper I loved the flowers on the corners of this cover. The blend of the blue and pink on the cover is really girly and pretty. Also LOVED the font of the title, specially the "Kitty Grey" font. The twisting, swirly letters are wonderful. Have you noticed the pearl necklace on the cover model and the gold earring, it's beautiful and gives off a historic vibe. This cover is perfection What are your thoughts?? - Soma

Cover of the Day: The Coldest Girl in Coldtown

Some people were really disappointed by this cover, but I think it works. The weird hand with the tattoo that kind of bleeds into everything else, and monopolizes the cover, the plain background. I think that they work together to form a nice cover. What are your thoughts? (: -Megan

Cover of the Day: Leap of Faith

Leap of Faith by Jamie Blair I really like the way her face is zoomed in and is sort of translucent. Usually that's something I hate in book covers, but I love the way it fits in this one. Besides, the warm color scheme used definitely makes the cover more interesting and heartwarming. I even love the way the title was placed, how none of the letters were capitalized, and the mixtures of colors. Very pretty. :) What do you think?

Series Spotlight: Stephanie Perkin's Companion Novels

Today I'd like to spotlight one of my favorite series! Well they're companion novels, but that counts right?! I wanted to spotlight this series because it just got its covers redone and I really love them. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins (Available now!) Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins (Available now!) Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins (Available 9/7/13)      Normally I HATE cover changes when the majority of the series is out, but this one I was ok with. (Only because I hadn't bought them yet lol) But with this series, I love the way they look! They make the series look more grown up and less YA-ish. Not saying that I didn't like the first covers, but these seem to make the story more mature. And now they seem a little plain, but the minimalism works for them I think. And I also like the color schemes. They're so bright but not over powering. And the font is huge, but to me it just works. (But I'm no...

Cover of The Day: Nameless

Nameless by Lili St. Crow The first thing that captured me is the dress the model is wearing. Torn. Messy. Dirty white. Loved it. Also the apple in her hand with a reference to Snow White is captivating, and her bright black hair shines through. I love the dark sky with the clouds and its contrast with the title. The fonts are all perfect for the background. I love this cover! What are your thoughts? - Soma

Cover of the Day: The Brides of Rollrock Island

Most of the reason that I'm so in love with this cover can be attributed to the fact that I just read this, and it was absolutely fabulous. The cover just fits . I love the font-- and how it just seems to match the water color below. I also really love the girl's pose-- which I know, is weird! But she is embodying the seal-wives, and it's absolutely perfect. What do you think? ~Megan

Cover of the Day: One

One by Leigh Ann Kopans It's just so surreal! I love just about everything in this cover. It looks like her wings are made out of constellations on a cloudy day... and there's a door at the bottom. I'm dying to know what this all means!! It's very angelic too. It gives off a very peaceful feeling. What do you think?

Cover of the Day: If He Had Been With Me by Laura Nowlin

If He Had Been With Me by Laura Nowlin      I love this cover because it shows so much emotion. With her squatting in the rain near that puddle, you can't help but feel how distraught she is. And the title itself is written in a font that looks as if she wrote it herself, like in a journal entry. Everything about this cover makes me want to dive in and find out her journey to this place in the street and the emotion behind it.  So what do you think?  Love it, like it, or hate it? -Nikki H.

Cover of the Day: Time After Time

Time After Time by Tamara Ireland Stone I may be a little biased with my love of this cover because I'm such a big fan of the series itself but oh well. My favorite thing about this cover is the color and lighting. The bright, warm yellows/oranges make me think of Spring when all the leaves are changing. I like how the guy in the background is out of focus so all our attention goes to the girls face, who is making direct eye contact with us. Love it? Like it? Hate it? Let me know!

Cover of the Day: Strands of Bronze and Gold

Strands of Bronze and Gold by Jane Nickerson This cover is really pretty! I love the picture of the girl, and her hair, and I love the way the colors are. I like the font a lot, and the placement of the title and the author's name. It takes up just the right amount of space. I think the tagline should be just a bit bigger though. I don't love the swirly leaf patterns in the corners on the right side though. They don't quite fit in with the rest of the cover. Whatdya think? -Amanda B.

Cover of the Day: Red

I think that the reason I like this cover is the girls' hair. They all have red hair, and I think it ties into the title nicely! ;D ~Megan

Cover of the Day: Siege and Storm

Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo I adored the cover for Shadow and Bone, and I totally think the cover for this one is a perfect contrast. It just screams EPIC! The title is beautiful, both the font and the coloring. I love the way the clouds are formed behind the castle-like structure and it makes it even better that the towers are highlighted in red while the rest is black.  What do you think?

Cover of the Day: Born of Illusion by Teri Brown

This Saturday's cover of the day is: Born of Illusion by Teri Brown      First off, I LOVE the font on this one. I love how big it is, the curliness of it and the light color against the dark background. I also love the girl's face. She's pretty and her skin, make up, and hat are flawless. But my favorite part of this cover is her eye. It seems to be its own optical illusion by its color. And her gaze is so intense. I can't wait to find out all the secrets this book holds! So what do you think?  Love it, like it, or hate it? -Nikki H.
