The Secret

Cover of the Day: Scarlet

Scarlet by Marissa Meyer My favorite part about this cover is the title. I LOVE the font and the placement, and how it draws your eye. I love the cloak too, and how you can only see part of the girl. And the foggy background brings it all together nicely. I think the author's name should be a bit bigger, but other than that, I love this cover! Whatdya think? -Amanda B.

Cover Of The Day: Die For Her

Die For Her by Amy Plum Wow. That's the word. I am maybe , the hugest fan of Paris. So you could imagine how much this cover enchanted me. The first thing is the colors, they are all blends of each other and shades of blue and purple. They are done perfectly. Also love the twirls of the lines surrounding the title. Although the title's font is simple, the twirls and curves around it are amazing. The author's name has been given justice. I wish this book was a real softcover, not a digital file! What are your thoughts? - Soma

Cover of the Day: Across a Star-Swept Sea

Across a Star-Swept Sea by Diana Peterfreund I LOVE the concept here. The mixture of blues are completely stunning. Her dress is awesome and I love how it mixes with the water like silk. I think the title could have been placed better, but the font fits perfectly. Truly, I hope the story is just as beautiful as the cover. :) So what do you think?

Cover of the Day!

I'm super sorry for posting so late. I'm losing track of my days smh! I literally thought today was Friday :\ But better late than never right?! Cover of the Day belongs to: Wild Awake by Hilary T. Smith !      I love this cover because of all the bright colors. The orange and purple will definitely stand out on the shelf. And the girl who is dancing and twirling her hair looks like she's having a ball. I found myself wondering if that scene is actually in the book and why she's doing it. And then in the background the city's skyline is pretty too. It stands out on its own, but doesn't hog all the attention from the girl.  So what do you think about this cover? -Nikki H.

Cover of the Day: Unremembered

Unremembered by Jessica Brody I really like the simplicity of this one, the soft unfocused image, the bold, see through title, and small tag-line at the top.  The tag-line "A mind wiped clean" paired with the unfocused image of a girl's face, makes me think of when you remember someone from your childhood or something but can't quit picture what they looked like. The image is there in your brain somewhere, but you can't pull together all the details. I think it does a great job of conveying the story that's inside.  Love it? Like it? Hate it? Let me know!

Cover of the Day: The Raven Boys

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater   I get super excited every time I see this cover, mostly because I love Maggie Stiefvater, but also because, well, look at it! This cover is really unique! You don't see a lot of YA covers where the art was actually painted like this. On top of that, the raven is gorgeous! I love the brush strokes, and I love the red patch. I also love the title; where it is, the font, and the lines behind it. The lines are very curious.   Whatdya think?   -Amanda B.

Cover of The Day: Between Two Thorns

Between Two Thorns by Emma Newman Wow. That's all to say here. I love the brownish color that is spread throughout the cover and the little specks of color here and there. It feels like they signify something. The title's font is gorgeous, the little curves and turns grab your attention immediately. The author's name has been given justice. I just wish the brownish color would have been a little lighter, I think it's a little too depressing,, What arr your thoughts? - Soma

Cover of the Day: The Brokenhearted

I just have two words for this cover-- crazy awesome. Crazy because that heart is obviously made out of spare parts-- one piece looks like an old movie projector reel, and another kind of looks like a gas gauge. And check out that power button in the middle!! Totally awesome, if I do say so myself. (And I do!) Awesome because I think that robotics and cybernetic humans are underdone in YA books, and this looks like it has a little of both! (: What do you think about that?

Cover of the Day: The Chaos of Stars

The Chaos of Stars by Kiersten White I love how simple yet beautiful this cover is. The background is breathtaking and I love the designs on the corners. The colors are perfect for each other too. Blue and gold? Match made in heaven :) Besides, who doesn't love a cover where the title takes up just about the entire room.? It makes it easier for me to see it.  What do you think?

Cover of the Day: Delaney's Summer Bucket List

Delaney's Summer Bucket List by Richard Denney This cover is so fun! The girl floating away on the bouquet of balloons makes me think of the Pixar movie UP, which automatically makes me smile =)  I also love the soft pastel color palette.  Love it? Like it? Hate it?

Cover of the Day: Tiger Lily

Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson   I LOVE the colors on this cover! I didn't realize it the first time I saw this cover, but that's a picture of a girl in a dress! I thought it was just a flower at first glace, which is gorgeous, but now that I can tell it's a girl, it's like ten times more awesome. SO PRETTY!   I love the font for the title as well, and I love how the author's name is big enough and bright enough to stand out and be noticed, but it doesn't take over the cover.   Whatdya think?   -Amanda B.

Cover of The Day: INFINITE SKY

Infinite Sky by C. J. Flood I absolutely adore this cover. The first thing that I love about it is the blend of the colors. They are all shades of blue and white and they look good together! The second intriguing thing about this cover is the leaves and corns and the butterfly on the spider web, at the bottom of the cover. It is so unique and enchanting. The title's font is unique, too. I have never seen anything like it. What are your thoughts? - Soma

Cover of the Day: Acid

Check that. It's absolutely fabulous! I love how her hair is matched to the background/fire, and that the title is just so shiny looking! She looks totally kick butt, don't you think?

Cover of the Day: The Clockwork Scarab

The Clockwork Scarab by Colleen Gleason Classical. I love everything about this cover. It might not be very original, but I'm can't stop looking at it. It's got a comfortable, yet magical feeling to it. The colors blend easily. Her finger-less gloves are awesome! And the title is nicely placed where it doesn't interfere with the image. Love it! What do you think?

Cover of the Day: Control by Lydia Kang

First I want to start with the color scheme. Purple and blue always work together. And the fact that they're illuminated with the light is making it even better. Then I love the fact that its so simple but gives a little insight into the title. The font for the title is cool too. I like the way its scripted and not just simply written across the front.  So what do you think about this series? -Nikki H.

Cover of the Day: Paper Valentine

Paper Valentine by Brenna Yovanoff I love how unexpected this cover is. Have you ever seen anything like it?!? I really like how the designer has combined this flat one dimensional cutout of a girl and placed her into a very real three-dimensional space. But the thing that gets me most is a ll the little cutouts in her dress. They're incredible, hats off to the designer!  Love it? Like it? Hate it? Let me know!

Cover of the Day: The Night Circus

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern     I absolutely LOVE everything about this book cover. It's beautiful and eye-catching and swirly and simple-yet-complicated at the same time. I love how the circus looks in the palm of the hand, and I especially love the swirlies around the title. I find it to be an over-all very curious cover.   Whatdya think?   Amanda B.

Cover of The Day: Order of Darkness

Order of Darkness by Philippa Gregory I am a huge fan of simple covers. I love their flavor and their uniqueness. This cover is definitely one of my favorites. The first thing that captured my interest was the burning red candles. They sure signify something important but you gotta read the book to find out. Also loved the title's font but I wish it was a little bigger. But the author's name font is perfect. Love the gray scale background, too. It is mesmerizing and makes the candlestick and the candles stand out. What are your thoughts? - Soma

Cover of the Day: The Symptoms of My Insanity

I don't think that I really have to describe my love for this cover...I mean, look how unique it is! ;) What are your thoughts?

Cover of the Day: Cold Spell

Cold Spell by Jackson Pearce I love the twisted fairy-tale feeling of this cover. It's got all the signs: the shattered mirror, the ravens, the thorns, and the falling snow. The cover and the title are a perfect duo too. Cold Spell? Yeah, the cover looks downright chilly. It reminds me of Snow White and the Huntsman. So what do you think?

Series Spotlight: The Starcrossed Trilogy

This week I wanted to try something different! I wanted to show you all one of the series that I LOVE for just the covers alone! I'm hoping they don't change them as the paperbacks come out, because I really love the way they are now! This week I chose to spot light the Starcrossed series by Josephine Angelini.      I chose this series because every last one has an AMAZING color scheme. And the hard copies all have a shimmery finish that makes them stand out even more. But my favorite one is the cover for Goddess. I love how the green fades to blue, to purple. It looks so pretty. Lastly, there's the girl that's featured on the cover. I normally don't like girls and flowy dresses on covers, but with these novels being about Greek mythology, I think it kind of fits! So what do you think about this series? -Nikki H.
