The Secret

Idea-If you want to read Bloodlines by Richelle Mead

Well I had an idea for a book of mine. THe book of mine is Bloodlines by Richelle Mead. I was flipping through the book and my friend Terri said she wanted to read it and I just so happened to have my copy in my purse. I loaned it to her and she finished it in less that 24- hours. SO I had a thought of getting the book around to 50 people and each of them sign there names in the back of the book. I already have it filled out, so Terri's signiture along with mine is in the back. You get a week to read it and then ship it out along that time. If you take longer just let the next person you are shipping it to knows that it is going to be a few days before you finish it and ship it out. So once the book goes around to 50 different readers, hopefully, then I will donate my copy to my Local Library which has less YA books than me. They have 35 last time I counted so let me know and I will add you to the list. First come first serve, please I really dont want to lose my copy of the book so...

Review of The Pull

Title: The Pull  Author: Chelsie Shakespeare  Published: July 13, 2011  Publisher: Noble Romance Publishing- Young Adult  Source: Author sent a copy for review  Thoughts: Great story, compelling  Evie Remington had always done what people expected of her. As a result, at twenty-six she finds herself the unhappy owner and manager of a Denver hotel. That is, until deep-rooted memories of a past life and the hidden knowledge of a promise she made in that other lifetime pulls her away from it all. Without knowing where it will lead, Evie sets out on a cross-country journey that will challenge what she believes about life, death, and love   I got this book from the author for review. So I really enjoyed the plot it was different and fun. It was a little different than the Young Adult books we usually read where the main character is a teenager. This one is one where all of the characters are mid 20s.     So yes it was a different story...

Odd Fact Daily

I was taking a test of the Raven by edgar Allen Poe, earlier this week and I was positive I failed the test so when we get into English class today my teacher says/yells " I am so disappointed in y'all. 75 % of the people who took this test failed so I am doing something I almost never do, I am throwing away these tests." I being compulsive says loudly, " Thank God, I know I failed that test"  The Mrs. French surprises Courtney by saying "Courtney, you made a hundred, the only one in the grade"  Then it was my turn to frown, I just made a hundred on a test and she was not going to count it?! When I got that look of confusion on my face Mrs French says "I will let you keep the hundred Courtney"  I was thinking Heck, yes I got an extra 100 on something I thought I had failed.

Review of One Night that Changes Everything

Title: One Night that Changes Everything  Author: Lauren Branhodelt   Publisher: Simon Pulse  Source:  Books a Million is Hattisburg, Mississippi during a USM college football game Two years ago, when Eliza Sellman was in ninth grade, her dad found out he was being transfered and the family was going to move. Having always been shy and not so confident about her body, Eliza took that opportunity to start a list in her private notebook of all the things she planned on doing when she moved but had always been afraid to—like wearing a miniskirt and asking guys to dance; singing karaoke in front of strangers; posting a photo of herself on her Facebook wall in a bikini...you get the idea. New town, new Eliza, right? Well, she'll never know because the transfer fell through and they didn't move. But Eliza kept adding her goals and secret fears to the list in the notebook. Now it's two years later, and in that time Eliza has had and lost her first boyfriend. But ...

Interview with Richard Due, author of The Moon coin

1) When did you first realize that you enjoyed writing? What made you start to put paper to words?  3rd grade. The teacher gave out a group project one day. Nobody in my group wanted to take charge. So, after allowing a suitable time to go by, I seized the day. I put my best crayon man on illustration; my best ink man on lettering; we all covered for the useless dude who didn't want to do any work, and I took over storyboard layout, design, and story concept. Our book was a narrative mashup of us going trick-or-treating and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. It was so boss my lousy teacher stole it and never gave it back. She was proud; I was incensed. 2) Where were you when you finished writing the rough draft of your debut Good question. The Moon Coin was originally part of a larger work, The Rinn of Barreth, which consisted of what is now The Moon Coin and The Dragondain. I had outlined the work extensively, and everything was going very smoothly until, just three chapters from the en...

So Want Saturday (1)

So I will start doing this weekly , if I am not grounded .I t will feature a book I most definatly want to read. This weeks boook is :   When Kyle Comes Back by Melaine Marks Seventeen-year-old Rain Tolley’s childhood friend, Kyle Ryan, was abducted 10 years ago. Now, mysteriously, he is back—only where has he been?  Though Kyle is still kind and sweet—and yeah, smokin' hot—Rain is drawn to him, but afraid of him as well. Kyle seems haunted by the demons from his past—literal demons. Kyle keeps warning Rain to stay away from him--to not get too close. But Rain can’t keep her distance from Kyle. She feels connected to him in a way she can’t explain. But soon Rain discovers she has gotten too involved with Kyle. The dark forces haunting Kyle are now after Rain as well.  I for one loved the cover and the summary also caught my eye when I was on goodreads. I looked to see if it was on my Nook but of course it was not so I have to wait for it to come out in a Nook editio...

Review of Vampire Academy Book 1 and 2

I finally got up and read the first book in the Vampire Academy Series. I soon followed reading that one by Frostbite. I had won a signed copy of Vampire Academy by a blog contest. So its been on my shelf for about 3 months , give or take a few weeks. So I was takling to my friend Natalie and she asked if I had any good books she could read.  I gave her the Vampire Academy first book and she soon fell in love with Richelle's writing and said I should most defiantly have to read this book. So I picked it up the next day on my way to school and finished it by 6th period.    But enough of me ranting... It is time for the review of Vampire Academy and Frostbite.    St. Vladimir’s Academy isn’t just any boarding school—it’s a hidden place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They’ve been on the run, but now ...

Review of the Kindled Flame

The Kindled Flame by Sally Laity My rating: 3 of 5 stars Book 2 in the Freedom's Holy Light Series finds Jane Haynes working for the Crown against her family's patriotic cause in the hope of attaining an advantageous marriage. Is she willing to betray those she loves to achieve her goal? I really this book. It had a decent plot that started up a little after the first book, THe Dawn Awakening which was also decent. To be honest with you it is not one of my favorites yet it was also not a waste of my time. I admit this one took a few days to finish but as I said, I finished it. It is  one I borrowed from the library so no complaints on how much they are... Yet the plot was refreshing and also had a great twists here and there but the ending of the Awakening at Dawn was more leaning toward me.   All in All it was not that bad of a book View all my reviews

Review of Geek Girl

Well I have got myself on the Geek Girl blog, a little late, but I still managed to get myself on. I actually have a  signed copy of Geek Girl in paperback from Mrs. Cindy, when I read her book as a ebook copy.I fell in love with her story of Jen and Trevor, in fact I wear my Geek Girl T-shirt EVERYWHERE... I have to get me another one in a medium because the X-Small has shrunk, alot... Well I will try to do a review, the best I can.   Heres the very beginning:   "Think I could turn that boy bad?" My two best friends - my only two friends, really - Ella and Beth follow my face and laugh. We are sitting on the outskirts of the cafeteria, outcasts physically and socially. We are proud of this. We strive for this. "Trevor Hoffman?" Beth scoffs. "No way, Jen." "I bet I can," I say, chewing a painted black nail as I gaze at my intended target. "No way," they both agree. I look at Trevor Hoffman and my grin widens. He is such a nerdy, ...
